Sheridan’s got stuck in in Hull this week for the emergency home renovation show – DIY SOS!
This week Sheridan Lifts have been on the set of DIY SOS working tirelessly alongside tradesmen of all kinds – who are generously donating their labour and materials in order to help one extremely deserving family.
Darren, from Hessle, rolled up his sleeves for the show before – roof tiling for a local family from Hull. In an absolutely tragic chain of events Darren lost his wife, his ability to walk, and the ability to care for his children, one of whom is severely disabled.
Local tradesmen pooled together to donate their tools and time to help Darren and his family live the life that they deserve after they have struggled so endlessly.
Jack, the producer of DIY SOS contacted Sheridan’s following our contribution to the Manchester veteran street project and asked if we were willing to donate a lift installation.
It’s been such a struggle to keep it a secret, we were so excited about it! But a surprise is a surprise!
The Big Reveal
Today’s reveal has been emotional. Tradespeople build new friendships, bonding over sharing such a valuable experience. Knowing what the new house has in store for Darren and his family – completely painted and decorated, new wet room, spa pool and home lift Darren can finally go upstairs in his home for the first time since his operation complications and kiss his kids goodnight.
Sheridan Lifts are so proud and touched to see local trades people (or a bit further afield in this case) pool together to give Darren and his kids the life that they deserve. A big thank you to the DIY SOS team for inviting us to get involved!
