Sheridan Lifts punched their way through to win the finals with Boxing Champion Terry Flanagan
Sheridan Lifts Limited, a lift repair company, was asked to sponsor British Lightweight champion Terry Flanagan at the Prize Fighter. The boxing competition took place on Saturday 6th October 2012.
With this in mind, Sheridan Lifts were more than honoured to have been asked by the local boxer to sponsor him, but for Flanagan to defy the odds and win the Bet-Fair Prize Fighter Lightweights and maintain his unbeatable title, is a great achievement for both himself and for Sheridan’s.
Terry Flanagan modelled Sheridan Lift’s sponsored clothing live on Sky Sports. A new style of clothing that we can see hitting the fashion scene very soon! A few members of our team travelled up to Liverpool on Saturday night to cheer on Flanagan, as he battled remarkably through each round in the finals and he certainly gave the other contestants something to fight about! Terry overcome Patrick Liam Walsh in the quarter finals, followed by Derry Matthews in the semi-finals and then it was a split decision over Gary Sykes in the final.
Sheridan Lifts understand that it is tricky for the younger generation of today to keep them occupied, even more so with the difficulty of finding a job, so we decided to help them out by opening up a local boxing club. We have seen many young lads come down to the club to train and make new friends. This has enabled the youngsters to not only socialise, but to keep them motivated in being able to achieve their goals, whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
We’re sure Terry will pop back into the office once he’s finished celebrating his triumph and take us all out for a celebratory drink!
