Sheridan Lifts collecting suits for One Manchester workshop

Here at Sheridan Lifts, we are committed to working with the community we serve. But more than that, we actively enjoy it too.

Our close work with One Manchester, where we are employed for reactive lift maintenance services looking after around 300 residents across around 500 units in the region sees us getting involved in many community projects aimed at enriching and improving the lives of local people.

The latest project being run by One Manchester is an ongoing workshop located at The Work Shop in Moss Side. And we want to help support them with this project. The aim is to help job seekers to return to work by providing interview clothing to help them make that all important good first impression to a prospective employer.

As such, we are looking for good condition, new, second hand or reconditioned suits for interviews. Can you help someone else less fortunate by donating something? I’ve got a drawer full of ties so hopefully these will benefit someone else more than they benefit me.

Here in the office we are rallying our troops and asking them to find a good quality pair of shoes that don’t get worn very often, or some ties that maybe haven’t seen the light of day for a while. As long as the items are in good condition, any donation could be really useful to somebody.

The following items are wanted if available:

• Men’s Formal Shoes (urgent demand)
• Women’s Formal Shoes (urgent demand)
• Cufflinks
• Belts (urgent demand)
• Blouses
• Men’s Formal Shirts
• Black Skirts
• Trousers
• Men’s /Women’s Blazers
• Ties

If you have any of the above that you’d like to donate please bag them up and bring them in to our office here at Sheridan Lifts, at the address below:

Stanley House
7 Monsall Road
Manchester
M40 8FY

Once we have them everything together we will arrange for the items to be taken to the workshop in Gorton where they will be given to attendees.

We hope you will support us in this endeavour and I’ll keep you posted of developments.
