A lift may also suffer frequent breakdowns if it’s at the end of its life. A lift technician will be able to tell you if your lift needs refurbishing or removing when they carry out their regular maintenance checks, which is another reason that regular lift servicing is so important.
You should call your lift repair service provider as soon as you notice your lift is not working. At Sheridan Lifts, we have a 4-hour repair response time as standard, which means your lift is guaranteed to be back up and running on the same day the breakdown occurred. If someone is trapped in your lift, we’ll get someone out to you within an hour to make sure they’re freed quickly and safely.
A broken lift is considered to be an emergency because of the potential safety risk it poses. We will treat it as such, sending a technician out within 4 hours as standard to get everything back up and running. If someone is trapped in the lift, we’ll make sure an engineer is sent out within 1 hour.
If someone is trapped inside your lift, they should be able to call for help via the emergency button in the lift car. They should not try to force the doors open as this could lead to injury. Trapped passengers will always be treated as a priority by our team and we’ll be there as quickly as we possibly can to get them out safely.
