The team at Sheridan Lifts are over the moon to announce that we have been nominated in the Construction, Property & Engineering category at the North West Family Business Awards 2023!
The Awards are being held at the amazing Concorde Conference Centre, near Manchester Airport on Friday 19th May. The co-host for the evening is Nigel Barden, plus entertainment throughout the evening.
As a family business through and through, this award means the world to us and our team!
Sheridan Lifts – A Family Business
Established in 1979 by Stanley Sheridan, Sheridan Lifts is one of the country’s biggest and best independent lift companies. Stan’s passion for the company, as well as for our industry, our development, and our customers, led him to great success and inspired his family members. Because of his hard work, dedication and inspiration to his family, Sheridan Lifts is still running – and thriving – today.
Nine members and three generations of the Sheridan family are part of the Sheridan Lifts team, across all levels and functions of the business:

The beauty about being a family-run business from the beginning is that our team quickly becomes accustomed to the Sheridan ethos, as it’s so closely intertwined in everything we do!
With our core values being exhibited by everyone in the business all the way from the Senior Director level, we know we can provide the utmost in customer experience and ensure new business and retention are maximised at all times.
Our approach is also incredibly beneficial to the work-life balance of our employees, making sure that when they walk through the front gates they enjoy coming to work and are excited to see what the day brings! Although the Sheridan family are at the core of the business, each and every employee is classed as a family to the Sheridans and there will always be an open-door approach to every aspect of our operations. You can’t run a business on an “us and them” mentality, after all!
Every single one of us at Sheridan Lifts is a team and a family together, and this ethos has proved its worth with our success over the last 40+ years.
Of course, it’s not just people with the surname Sheridan that have helped make the business a success! Today, we have 125 members of staff working across service, maintenance, lift installations and modernisations, sales and project departments, and have increased our headcount by 20% in the last year!
Our turnover has doubled in the last four years and we expect to grow at an even faster rate in the coming year, with hundreds of lift installations and new projects lined up, and thousands more being maintained by our expert teams on a regular basis.
